Each antenna is 82 feet in diameter and weighs 230 tons.

While we were visiting in April 2010, there were several antenna that were slewing while we watched. They were not very loud...just a low hum preceded by a single "knock". There were only single ones moving so I can only imagine what they must sound like when all of them move simultaneously.
